At the dump that is RFK Stadium, DC United faced CD Guadalajara in a 2-1 loss in their first game of the 2008 SuperLiga Championship. The game was delayed for 19 minutes for a lighting lighting malfunction.
Arellano of Guadlajara scored in the 24th minute off an assist from Ramon Morales. Pineda scored on a free kick in the 72nd.
United started a comeback when Luciano Emilio scored in the 76th minute. Two minutes later United had a chance to equalize, but captain Jamie Moreno’s penalty kick was saved by Ernesto Michel of Chivas
According to Moreno in an interview for the Washington Post,
“He made a great save — credit to him,” said Moreno, MLS’s all-time leading scorer who has converted 20 consecutive penalty kicks in league play. “I picked my spot and didn’t change it. He did well waiting for me.”

So it looks like Brett has a case of the flip-flop. In a report by Chris Mortensen on ESPN Brett is looking to come back to the Packers or be released so he can sign with another team.
“Cook(Brett’s agnet), on behalf of Favre, expressed a desire to have an amicable parting, as the Packers have been reluctant to embrace his return. Favre announced his retirement in early March.”
When he does come back it looks like there are going to be a lot of questions. Let’s look at the possible scenarios:
1. Starts for the Packers - +1, Aaron Rodgers can sit another year(odds: 2 to 1)
2. Stays with the Pack and backs up Rodgers - once Rodgers stinks up the place everyone is going to be clamoring for Brett to jump in. (odds: 5 to 1)
3. Release him and he goes to: Minnesota, Chicago, Baltimore, Carolina, 49ers, KC (odd: 30 to 1)
4. Stays retired (odds: no chance)
Seeing Brett in another jersey would just be sacrilegious. It reminds of when Jerry Rice ran off to the Radiers then the Seahawks or Joe Montana to the Chiefs. Though in many cases the greats that un-retire can have a productive year. I think he should stay retired and not pull another Michael Jordan and the countless others who come back only to tarnish the legacy they left behind.
